The SWNMCOG receives a grant from the United States Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) to work with local, regional, and state partners to develop and implement the Comprehensive Development Strategies (CEDS), a living document that is updated annually to address specific opportunities and challenges in the region.
The CEDS serves as a roadmap for the SWNMCOG to implement programs to strengthen those the communities they
serve through economic vitality programs. These programs aim to support good jobs, viable businesses, and lower
poverty rates in the region. They cultivate solutions for short- and long-term actions and focus on capacity building for
local governments, special districts and public education facilities.
